Hockey

One thing Michigan is not lacking is hockey fans. Our neighbors are no exception. Every winter
they turn their backyard into an ice rink. I'm told this year they made a small one. The boys have a great time sliding around and have learned quite a bit about hockey. Go Red Wings! That's the hockey team right?

Simple Pleasures

A coat rack

Needless to say, before this little coat rack came into my life, snow and mud were tracked on the carpet, coats, gloves, boots and snow pants strewn all over the house with mom left to pick them up because the coat rack up stairs is too high for the kids to reach. Now, the kids have their own coat rack right by the door in the basement which we now use regularly after playing outside in the snow. It has brought true joy to me. Who knew a $4.30 coat rack could make such a difference, so much that I'm blogging about it.

This is where you can find Dallin and Isaac every morning. They come straight to this spot after waking up. With their blankets accompanying them and occasionally their dogs, they share the space in front of the heater vent.

Hooray for Helpful Husbands

I need to say a huge thank you to my incredible husband! Yesterday he took the day off work so I could take the day off! I went to a bookstore and sat and read for a couple hours, it was heaven! Then I went to my friends house, chatted and learned more about my new photoshop. Then I went shopping at the mall, grocery shopping, and had my sore back finally adjusted at the chiropractor. I came home to washed, dried, folded, put away laundry, a clean house, and fresh brownies sitting on clean kitchen counters! Who could ask for more! I must say I think I have quite the man! Thank you Nate for my liberating relaxing day! I love you so much!

Cures for Cabin Fever

Dallin and Isaac love playing on the "mountains" in our yard. When they came inside I asked them, "did you make anything cool?" "No we just destroyed." Typical boys. Nate also took them sledding down the "mountains" in the school parking lot down the street. They had a blast.

We went to a place called Bounce U with some of Dallin's friends from school. The place is filled with jumping castles and slides. It was a great cabin fever cure!

Nate and I spent New Years Eve at a Detroit Pistons game! We had tons of fun! They play at the Palace of Auburn Hills, which is just down the street from us! One of the perks of living in a big city (or near one).

Final score 83-75. We won!

Better Breathing

This is now part of Isaac's morning and night routine. It is step one in a trial & error process to figure out why his bad cough has hung around for more than a year now. This is basically an inhaler, to treat asthma. Can you tell he's thrilled! So far it hasn't been helping. I'm starting to wonder how many "trials" we're going to have to go through to get this figured out. Poor guy.
