Fun Halloween Week

We had a great Halloween week! It started with a trunk-or-treat at the church on Sat. Dad was a Boise State fan (Go Broncos!!), Mom was a robot, Dallin was a blue power ranger, Isaac a red power ranger, and Landen was Superman.


Landen was on the go all night, it was hard to get a good picture of him in his cute costume.

Pumpkin carving!

Dallin and Isaac were so excited to carve pumpkins. However they wanted nothing to do with gooey goop, so they watched me cut the tops off, and they were done - downstairs they went to play. They came back up when I was almost finished and Dallin said, "Mom I love carving pumpkins!"

He also told me I was "the best pumpkin carver in the world" and took my picture. That made it all worth it!

Then of course Trick -or-Treating! This was actually after they were done. Dallin did not want his picture taken because he was sweating hot!! That's the first time I've heard that on a Halloween night! The night was so nice. Landen and I sat outside on the porch to hand out candy.

A Very Bitter and Sweet Day

October 17th was quite the day for us. Bitter because we found out we lost the baby I'm carrying. At my doctor's appointment, they could not find a heart beat. I had an ultra sound which confirmed there was no heart beat. We are very sad to say the least. However, in the same day we were able to go home and celebrate the life of our new 1 year old. How gratefull we are for our three beautiful boys and the joy they bring us.

Landen was actually scared on his 1st birthday. Dallin and Isaac had party blowers and party hats that Landen was terrified of. We had to put them away, but it didn't help much. The cake scared him, the candle, the balloon, everything. We finally got him calmed down and took things slower, then he was ok, and finally enjoyed the yummy cake!

He was ok after we took the cake away and fork fed him.

Then he was ready to go! Yum!

Cider Mill

My sister Katie and her husband Jason came to visit us! Yeah! Brownie points for them!! We went to a cider mill where we enjoyed yummy doghnuts and cider and apple crisp. The boys had a ton of fun running around and enjoying the fall weather.

It was so pretty! We walked along the river but had to cut it short because Landen wanted to get in the water. He wined and complained the whole time, poor guy just didn't understand.

Prophets and Apostles

What a great conference weekend we had. It is always so refreshing and edifying to listen to The Prophet and Apostles of Jesus Christ, along with other leaders of the church. General conference left me with feelings of profound gratitude, urgency to improve and be a better person to prepare for the second coming of the Savior, and a resolute knowledge that this truly is the church of Jesus Christ restored to the earth, He is at the head, leading and directing it.

I was touched by a story Elder Boyd K. Packer told that I recently shared in a lesson I taught at church. It comes to mind now, and I'd like to share it with you. Elder Packer says...

"In 1976 an area general conference was held in Copenhagen, Denmark. Following the closing session, President Spencer W. Kimball desired to visit the Vor Frue Church, where the Thorvaldsen statues of the Christus and of the Twelve Apostles stand. He had visited there some years earlier and wanted all of us to see it, to go there.
To the front of the church, behind the altar, stands the familiar statue of the Christus with His arms turned forward and somewhat outstretched, the hands showing the imprint of the nails, and the wound in His side very clearly visible. Along each side stand the statues of the Apostles, Peter at the front to the right and the other Apostles in order.
Most of our group was near the rear of the chapel with the custodian. I stood up front with President Kimball before the statue of Peter with Elder Rex D. Pinegar and Johan Helge Benthin, president of the Copenhagen stake.
In Peter’s hand, depicted in marble, is a set of heavy keys. President Kimball pointed to those keys and explained what they symbolized. Then, in an act I shall never forget, he turned to President Benthin and with unaccustomed firmness pointed his finger at him and said, “I want you to tell everyone in Denmark that I hold the keys! We hold the real keys, and we use them every day.”
I will never forget that declaration, that testimony from the prophet. The influence was spiritually powerful; the impression was physical in its impact.
We walked to the back of the chapel where the rest of the group was standing. Pointing to the statues, President Kimball said to the kind custodian, “These are the dead Apostles.” Pointing to me, he said, “Here we have the living Apostles. Elder Packer is an Apostle. Elder Thomas S. Monson and Elder L. Tom Perry are Apostles, and I am an Apostle. We are the living Apostles.
“You read about the Seventies in the New Testament, and here are two of the living Seventies, Elder Rex D. Pinegar and Elder Robert D. Hales.”
The custodian, who up to that time had shown no emotion, suddenly was in tears.
I felt I had had an experience of a lifetime."

We believe in the same organization that existed in the primitive church namely apostles, prophets, pastures, teachers, evangelists and so forth.

I feel so blessed to be a part of this great work of the Lord. I hope to share my knowledge of the truth I have more often and with more people as I feel an enormous urgency to do so.

Dallin played T-ball this summer. He liked it, and had a lot of fun!

Landen can be seen the most with a ball. Whenever I need him to be occupied for a moment, I hand him a ball. He hits it and chases it around the house for quite a while.





Of course the Boise State Football is his favorite!
