A Visit to Salt Lake

It just so happened that my best friend from high school happened to be going through Utah the same time we were!  We met up on Temple Square for way too short of a time, but it was so good to see Valerie!

We enjoyed lunch with Grandpa and Charisa and kids!

Idaho - Purcell Family Reunion

A visit to Grandpa John's grave site

Dallin and Isaac said their favorite part of the trip was swimming in the lake

Landen and Yoda preferred to watch from the sidelines

Campfire Fun!

Thanks Uncle Doug, for teaching Dallin how roast a marshmallow!  My poor deprived child!

Uncle Mark made up a fun scavenger hunt the kids

Isaac found his buried treasure at the end
Aunt Heidi got some fun back packs the kids decorated
Gracee, Jamison, Hudson, Lily, McKenna

One of the highlights was our hike (or walk) up to Coffee Rapids

It felt so good to be in the mountains again!  Everything was sooo beautiful to us!

Landen was hot and tired.  To get him home we would say, "there's a shady spot Landen!" and he would run to it, wait for us, and run to the next shady spot.

So happy to be done walking!

It was so great to enjoy the beauty of the Lakes and mountains again.

Big Springs

The water was sooo pretty, clean, and clear! Unfortunately, we only saw two fish where normally there are dozens.

Iguana?

Dallin came running inside telling me there was lizard on our garage door.  I came out expecting to see a cute little thing.  Holy cow!  I was shocked.  Is it an Iguana?  We never really could quite tell.  He hung around for a couple days in the back yard and provided quite the entertainment - from a distance.  Yikes!

Looking Forward

We are planning a trip back west this summer and lately the only words out of Landen's mouth are "when can we go on an airplane?" So I decided to make a chain so he can get a sense of time a little better.
He loved it!

We are all so excited to go visit family and see Utah and Idaho! Landen is especially looking forward to getting on that airplane!

Dallin's Baptism

Dallin was baptized and confirmed on April 16th. It was a very special day. We are so happy for him. We were so excited to have family visiting and supporting Dallin. Thank you everyone for coming! Isaac and Landen sang a musical number with their cousins at the baptism, and did a such a great job!

A few gifts: Baptism memory book, and set of scriptures

Dallin was so excited about his scriptures! With cousins and brothers running around and playing, he sat in this chair, started in Genesis and read and read for quite a while. Every once in a while I would hear, "mom I'm on chapter 10...Mom, I'm on chapter 23..." I thought it was so funny, because this is very uncharacteristic for Dallin. It was also pretty neat to see. He is still reading every day, curled up in this chair. I suggested maybe he read The Book of Mormon, since the Old Testament can get confusing, boring, or hard to read. But he is determined to "start at the beginning!" I took a picture to document a time when he loved his scriptures!

Visitors!!

We are missing pictures of most of our visitors. It was so fun to have family here for Dallin's baptism. Nate's aunt and uncle, Ron & LoAnn, their kids, Marliece & Richmond, Nate's brother's family - Matt, Dawn, Mckenna, Lily, and Jack, and Nate's mom - Grandma Jeanne, all came to see us and Dallin on his special day. And it was so great that my parents - Grandma & Grandpa King were able to come visit a few days later! It was sure nice to spend time with family. We miss them already!
