Dallin's Baptism

Dallin was baptized and confirmed on April 16th. It was a very special day. We are so happy for him. We were so excited to have family visiting and supporting Dallin. Thank you everyone for coming! Isaac and Landen sang a musical number with their cousins at the baptism, and did a such a great job!

A few gifts: Baptism memory book, and set of scriptures

Dallin was so excited about his scriptures! With cousins and brothers running around and playing, he sat in this chair, started in Genesis and read and read for quite a while. Every once in a while I would hear, "mom I'm on chapter 10...Mom, I'm on chapter 23..." I thought it was so funny, because this is very uncharacteristic for Dallin. It was also pretty neat to see. He is still reading every day, curled up in this chair. I suggested maybe he read The Book of Mormon, since the Old Testament can get confusing, boring, or hard to read. But he is determined to "start at the beginning!" I took a picture to document a time when he loved his scriptures!

Visitors!!

We are missing pictures of most of our visitors. It was so fun to have family here for Dallin's baptism. Nate's aunt and uncle, Ron & LoAnn, their kids, Marliece & Richmond, Nate's brother's family - Matt, Dawn, Mckenna, Lily, and Jack, and Nate's mom - Grandma Jeanne, all came to see us and Dallin on his special day. And it was so great that my parents - Grandma & Grandpa King were able to come visit a few days later! It was sure nice to spend time with family. We miss them already!

Great to be Eight!

Dallin had a lot of fun on his 8th birthday. We had a lego party. It was some wild fun!

Dallin was sooo excited for this whip cream game. A lego mini figure was burried in the whip cream which they had to retreive with mouths. I was surprised he wanted to include it because getting messy drives him nuts. It was hillarious to watch him!

While others dug in, Dallin carefully licked his way to the lego guy.

Ben was the first to find his.

Cole enjoyed the mess

Better grab a napkin Dallin, you have a little something on your chin!

The boys did a scavenger hunt around the neighborhood, collecting lego pieces at each stop. It ended with instructions on how to build a lego racer. They had a blast.

In all the madness I forgot to get a picture of them racing their newly built cars down a ramp I created - thanks to Sams Club

Thanks for all the fun gifts!

Family Party

He got to go to cub scouts on his birthday. He had so much fun, and is LOVING scouts! Thanks Grandma Jeanne for the shirt!

A neat baptism book from aunt Heidi!

Dallin, you are such a fun part of our family. We are so happy to have you! Happy Birthday big guy! We love you!

"ON"

I think I've said before, Jared loves putting things on. He is always bringing me things and saying, "on, on." Although, he has gotten pretty good at putting some things on himself. I decided to start taking pictures of all that he puts on!

He's always asking to go outside. I'm never quick enough to get him dressed up.

All decked out to play with playdough!

Isaac's shoes, mom's shoes.

Hats and headbands

He had to cowboy up to brush his teeth.

When Jared put this hat on Landen said, "Look mom Jared looks like Grandpa King!"

He fished his old burb cloths out of his dresser and wanted to put it "on."

You know you live in Michigan if...

  • You are excited for the following week when the weather will warm up to 32 degrees

  • You consider calling 911 when the furnace isn't working to its full potential

  • You're eventually forced to just love the snow

(Landen last February)

    (Landen this February)

  • Your 6 year old is an expert snow cave builder (sorry no picture available).

  • Your 8 year old asks if he can sleep in it! Noting that it's probably the same temperature as the sheets in his bed...since the funace isn't working.

  • Your baby's first words are "cold" and "snow"

(My video of Jared would not upload...I'll try to get one soon)

  • Every February you find yourself researching job openings in Arizona.

Happy Valentines Day!

This picture pretty much sums up how we have spent winter. Including Valentines Day. Sorry, no Xs and Os from us!
