Our Summer So Far

Here's a bit of what we've been up to this summer.

Planting

This isn't our garden, I didn't get pictures of us working in our garden, but my neighbor said the kids could use this box to do some planting of their own. Isaac jumped at the chance to plant some flowers she had. He loved it!

Landen loved to play in the dirt of course!

Dallin learned to ride a two wheeler!

Isaac finally decided to give the "big" bike a try - now that's it's almost too small for him.

These are my 2 tomato plants supported by 7 cages. Now they are probably a foot taller. Too bad I'm the only one in the family who will eat tomatoes! Or maybe that's a good thing:)

The city had a down town carnival weekend. Dallin and Isaac had a lot of fun. Here they are battling it out. Isaac didn't stand much of a chance!

More Church History

We are grateful for our opportunities to visit some great church history sites while we've lived in the midwest. We have been to Nauvoo, Independence, Kirtland, and last weekend went to New York to see the Sacred Grove where Joseph Smith prayed to know which church to join and was visited by God the Father and Jesus Christ. We also went to the Hill Cumorah where the golden plates were hidden and found and translated into the Book of Mormon. It was an awsome experience to be there and feel the spirit of the Holy Ghost testifying of the truth of the things that happened there. Everything was so beautiful, and the weather was perfect.

Happy 4th! (A week late)

We had a fabulous 4th of July in Fairport, NY where Matt and Dawn live. It was however the coldest 4th of July I've ever experienced. I don't believe I've ever worn a sweatshirt and blanket to a 4th of July parade and fireworks. It was nonetheless very fun, the kids had a blast hanging out with their cousins again and were very sad to leave.

Visitors!

We finally had some family come visit us! Matt (Nate's brother) and Dawn and their three children, McKenna, Lily, and Jack, came and stayed for the weekend. We had a great time with them. It was so fun to see the cousins interact and get to know each other better. The girls got a taste of Star Wars and fighting, the boys got a taste of playing house, and holding hands everywhere we went. It was very cute to see.

We went to Port Huron to see the town and where Nate works.

The beach was beautiful. Too bad it was too cold to even play in the sand.
