Updates

Dallin is 6, loving kindergarten, and as you can tell Star Wars. He has grown so much this year, mostly socially. He raises his hand in class and makes comments (big step for him), and you will even see him talking to strangers in the grocery store and park. He loves playing outside with all the neighborhood kids and is looking forward to learning to ride a bike with no training wheels this spring! He is also looking forward to soccer, baseball, and swimming this summer. He was very dissapointed that he is not getting a sister this time, but is starting to get used to the idea of another brother and is excited to meet him. He wants to name him Sam, and I have to keep reminding him he has a cousin Sam.

Things he ponders about:

1. "But mom, how did the baby get inside your tummy?" and "How is the doctor going to get it out?"

2. "if you were to burn in a fire for 100 days, you be black like Darth Vader"

If you were to ask him what he is good at he would say:

1. running fast

2. reading

3. taking care of dogs and bugs. No, we don't have a dog, yes we do have many bugs.

We have recently discovered via an online test that Dallin is colorblind. We've suspected it for a while and sure enough he is. Please don't mention it to him though, he is in denial right now, and not too happy about it. Poor kid.

He is asleep right now, awaiting the tooth fairy for his 2nd lost tooth. The first one was about a week ago.

Updates on the other kids will be coming soon!

Spring Break or Christmas Break?

This last week was our spring break. We woke up Monday morning to this...

How depressing. We have a book about a little bear who is anxious for spring to come, it's called "when will it be spring" It keeps running through my head as I'm just as impatient as he is.

Happy Birthday Dallin!!

It's hard to believe my little Dallin is 6, and not so little anymore. We had a super fun star wars birthday party yesterday. And wouldn't you know it, I forgot to take pictures. I remembered when we got to the presents and cake, but I missed all the creative, fun games that took weeks of preparing and planning. Oh well, I guess you'll have to wait till next year! At least the boys had fun.

Dallin was most excited about getting a Dinoco Chick Hicks

Pretending to smile for the camera with his homemade light saber

Luke Skywalker cake. My first time doing this mehtod. Probably would've added more , if guests were not arriving before I was finished!

Here it is at 8 months old. Time sure flies!

Happy Birthday Dallin! We love you!

Shave and a Haircut

Nate: What happened to your hair!
Dallin: It needed to be shorter so I cut it.

After talks and time outs we attempted to fix it.

He even took some chunks out of the back!

He used the preschool scissors!

What he thought of the finished product

Dallin: Now all the kids at school are going to laugh at me.
Mom: No they won't, it's just like your summer hair cut.
Dallin: Isaac, what do you think?
Isaac: You look like an alien.
Dallin: Alien's don't have hair.
Isaac: Well, you look like a hairy alien.

If you look close you can see most of his right eyebrow is missing. When we asked what he did to his eyebrow, he said, " I tripped and fell on the shaver." We finally got it out of him to tell us that he used Nate's razor to shave his eyebrow, the only facial hair he could find I guess.
